True are partnering with a specialist decarbonisation contractor at the forefront of delivering low carbon retrofit projects across the public sector. With live schemes in leisure and healthcare and a strong forward pipeline, they’re now looking to appoint a Mechanical Project Manager to take ownership of a flagship decarbonisation project in Oxford.

As Mechanical Project Manager, you’ll be site-based on a leisure centre retrofit, leading the mechanical delivery through the final installation and commissioning phase. The project is heavily focused on-air source and water source heat pump systems, associated pipework, and LV supply upgrades. Everything is already in place the priority is to drive the process, manage the site team, and ensure a smooth, compliant handover.

The initial project will run through to April, after which you’ll transition onto a major healthcare decarbonisation scheme in Croydon, offering long-term continuity and progression. A Senior Site Manager with strong mechanical experience who is ready to step up into a Project Manager role would also be considered.

Mechanical Project Manager Package:

  • £70,000 – £80,000 (DOE) Salary
  • Long-term decarbonisation pipeline across leisure & healthcare
  • On-site role initially, with flexible working thereafter
  • Opportunity to progress onto a major hospital scheme
  • Strong technical support and established delivery team

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Strong mechanical background across heat pumps, plant, and pipework
  • Experience delivering retrofit or live-environment projects
  • ASHP / WSHP experience preferred (or a very strong pipework background)
  • Ability to manage subcontractors, programme, and commissioning activities
  • Confidence driving projects through commissioning and handover
  • Project Manager experience preferred, though Senior Site Managers looking to step up will be considered

The Role:

  • Lead the mechanical delivery of a live leisure centre decarbonisation project
  • Drive progress through the commissioning period over the next few weeks
  • Coordinate mechanical installation, testing, and handover
  • Act as the on-site point of contact for delivery and client liaison
  • Transition onto a large-scale healthcare decarbonisation project post-April

If you’re a mechanically strong Project Manager or a Senior Site Manager ready to take the next step looking to work on technically interesting decarbonisation schemes with long-term security, this is an excellent opportunity.
