True are partnering with a growing HVAC Design & Delivery specialist contractor, recognised for high-quality Cat A and Cat B commercial fit-out projects across the South. As part of a strategic expansion, the business is establishing a new regional hub in Bournemouth and is now looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Manager or Senior Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping this new operation.

As Mechanical Design Manager/ Engineer, you’ll take full ownership of in-house mechanical design delivery, supporting commercial office fit-out projects from early concept through to construction issues and technical support during delivery. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident working independently, producing coordinated designs across VRV/VRF, chilled water, LTHW, pipework and plumbing systems. Initially office-based, the role offers longer-term hybrid flexibility once established.

This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage, become the technical lead within a new regional hub, and work closely with senior leadership to build best-practice design processes as the business continues its strong growth trajectory.

Mechanical Design Manager/ Engineer Package:

  • £75,000+ basic salary (DOE)
  • Over 28 Days annual leave
  • Long-term career opportunity within a growing business

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver detailed mechanical designs for commercial fit-out projects
  • Design and coordinate VRV/VRF, chilled water, LTHW, pipework and plumbing systems
  • Carry out system sizing, pressure drop calculations, selections and technical schedules
  • Produce scopes, overlays, mark-ups and coordinated design information
  • Support delivery teams with technical queries through construction and commissioning
  • Maintain high standards of quality, coordination and buildability across all designs

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong mechanical design background within building services
  • Proven experience across VRV/VRF, chilled water, LTHW, pipework and plumbing
  • Exposure to  office fit-out projects
  • Comfortable working autonomously and taking technical ownership
  • Confident using design software of your choice (software-agnostic environment)
  • Based in or around Bournemouth, or willing to relocate

If you’re looking to take ownership of design delivery, influence how a new regional hub is built, and join a business investing heavily in people and long-term growth, this is a standout opportunity.
