True are partnering with a specialist building services contractor delivering complex low-carbon and renewable energy projects across the UK. With a major, high-profile development secured in Oxford, they’re now looking to appoint a Site-Based M&E Project Manager to support delivery of this flagship scheme.

As M&E Project Manager, you’ll be fully site-based, overseeing subcontractors and managing the technical installation of works on a significant package for a leading Tier 1 main contractor. The scope includes ground source systems, air source and ground source heat pumps, prefabricated pipework, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical services. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone from a trade or engineering background who understands installation at ground level and can confidently drive site progress.

M&E Project Manager Package:

  • £55,000–£65,000 salary (DOE)

  • Car allowance included within salary (flexible structure)

  • Standard pension contributions

  • Long-term pipeline of secured projects beyond this scheme

  • Opportunity to work on a prestigious, technically advanced development

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Mechanical or Electrical bias (electrical preferred, both considered)

  • Strong background from the tools — Pipefitter, Plumber, AC Engineer, or Electrical trade

  • Experience managing subcontractors and overseeing on-site installation

  • Knowledge of heat pump systems, plant, pipework, and commissioning

  • Ability to work fully site-based (4–5 days per week)

  • Confident communicator, organised, and proactive in driving programme

The Role:

  • Manage and oversee M&E subcontractor packages on site

  • Ensure technical installation is delivered to programme and quality standards

  • Support commissioning and system integration

  • Liaise with senior management and main contractor teams

  • Maintain strong health & safety and compliance standards

With further work already secured for the coming years, this is a strong opportunity to join a growing contractor with long-term project continuity following completion of this flagship Oxford scheme.
