A leading luxury interior design studio is seeking a Furniture Designer to join its growing team and play a key role in shaping its bespoke furniture offering across beautiful private residential projects.

This newly created role is an exciting opportunity for a highly creative and technically skilled designer with a strong understanding of materiality, and high-end fabrication. Working closely with the Directors, Interior Design, and Procurement teams, you will lead the development of original furniture pieces from concept through to production while supporting bespoke FF&E across a range of high-end interior projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of bespoke furniture pieces from concept through to production
  • Produce detailed technical drawings, 3D models, specifications, and production documentation
  • Collaborate with interior design, procurement, and manufacturing teams to deliver bespoke FF&E solutions
  • Liaise with artisans, fabricators, and specialist suppliers throughout development and production stages
  • Review prototypes, samples, and shop drawings to ensure quality, feasibility, and design integrity
  • Oversee production, quality control, installations, and contribute to the studio’s evolving furniture collection

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience within furniture design, product design, industrial design, or bespoke FF&E design
  • Degree in Furniture Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related discipline
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating bespoke furniture design and technical delivery
  • Excellent technical drawing and detailing skills for high-end furniture manufacture
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar 3D modelling software
  • Advanced understanding of joinery, construction methods, materials, finishes, and fabrication processes
  • Experience working directly with specialist manufacturers, artisans, and fabricators
  • Strong knowledge of luxury-level craftsmanship and bespoke production processes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance creativity, feasibility, and budget requirements
  • Passion for craftsmanship, innovation, and beautifully resolved design details
