A distinguished New York–based architecture and design firm, acclaimed for its thoughtful and rigorously designed residential projects, is seeking an Intermediate Architect to join its team. The practice is widely recognized for designing sophisticated modern homes with sculptural forms, refined detailing, and a carefully considered interplay of space, proportion, and light. Its portfolio spans custom townhouses, waterfront residences, and estate homes, each grounded in architectural tradition while reinterpreted through a contemporary lens to create deeply personal, enduring environments.
The Intermediate Architect will play an integral role across all phases of project delivery, from conceptual design through construction completion. This position involves technical planning, detailed design development, and the production of comprehensive, high-quality construction documentation that meets project objectives, regulatory requirements, and permitting standards. Responsibilities include producing architectural drawings and related materials, coordinating closely with project teams, consultants, and contractors, attending jobsite meetings, issuing supplemental instructions, responding to RFIs, and preparing drawings, models, and presentation materials for client and agency presentations.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of professional experience, with prior involvement in high-end residential projects in New York and the Hamptons considered a strong advantage. A strong design sensibility, exceptional attention to detail, and advanced production skills are essential. Proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite is required, while experience with Lumion and SketchUp is a plus. The role suits a proactive problem-solver who can manage multiple projects independently, anticipate project needs, support informed decision-making, and thrive within a collaborative studio environment.
